Over the last 2 days I have been on a course through work, and while its been nice to not have to travel to a venue and stay away. I have found that doing this at home has been quite hard. In the past I have always said I would rather do in person as you gain from talking to other delegates, this time it wasn’t practical due to the time till the next course, so I decided to try online.
I have found that due to the wide geographical spread and languages of delegates, that interaction has been through text a lot to the instructor. Its from these interactions that you get that discussion. I have also found that when there is a natural drop in your concentration you have to work really hard to come back into he virtual room.
Being at home itself has been fine as I have been managed to isolate myself from the house, even being on CET rather than GMT wasn’t a problem, and meant i got chance to catch up on a few work things before 5pm.
This isn’t to say that I dont like this style, I have followed on line courses myself and never had an issue, I think what I’ve missed here is that interaction which I do believe you also learn from.
Also there are no free biscuits!
